Little story ....my friend Dave, a quadrapalegic, coined the phrase...
If You Can't Stand Up...STAND OUT.......and lives it everyday.
He was injured in a car accident in his early 20's. After a brief transitional period, transformed into the amazing dynamic man he is now. Dave works a full time job, has skiied in British Columbia, sky dived, parasailed, kayaked, traveled to Europe and all over the U.S.
He has been on the Today Show and raised money for charity, not spinal cord injury mind you, but Lupus. Last year Metro asked him to be the key note speaker at a spinal cord event, he's an incredible communicator and touched lives that day..as always. He has such a calm encouraging demeanor, it touches everyone he meets. Friends, friends of friends from years ago, waitresses, business owners, hospital staff and the easy way he connects, networks and intertwines us all.
I started selling these t-shirts and hats with his phrase on them at my shop http://cafepress.com/imaginestudios with the intent for the proceeds to go toward the care and feeding of his van, his source of freedom. The van is currently running on prayer alone and needs some help.

The night life of Chagrin Falls wasn't as happening as it used to be during Blossom TIme Thursday night , but Friday night Gamekeepers was alive with people of all ages , especially I'd say people over 30. and the Greenville was packed with a younger crowd and was rocked by the BackUp Band..

The dot.com bubble (1995-2001) finally burst. Today companies are using the internet as a channel to increase revenues and e-market share. What is deemed "ethical" in search engine optimization (SEO) and internet marketing seems to have become simply a buzzword for all to use. The problem SEO Auditing New Ecommerce ModelTechnology, Web hosting, Web Design companies and the like have taken a new role, SEO/Internet Marketing. Yet their overworked and underpaid workers are not able to keep up with the necessary workload to maintain their positioning in their industry's e-market.These companies are paid very well, many are paid millions of dollars a year, but the problem lies in that as the competition increases, their rankings in the search results will drop, and all because their pages were not even close to being truely optimized. The sad part is that companies don't really know what to look for in hiring a "SEO company". They spend all that money on SEO and then come to a realization that their return on investment isn't very high.This is because it requires serious market research to enter a market, hard work to strongly position itself in the e-market, and most of these companies are relying on simple title tag optimization for results (even though the titles aren't truely optimzied).I believe seo auditing will come into the picture, and an increase in the number of people who are hired in-house to perform SEO. These companies will wake up and say "WOW we blew a lot of money on this!". There are companies that are making over 50% of their revenues on the internet. For long term success it is going to take an in-depth online marketing strategy to truely be successful on the web. The group Rebels Without Applause is playing tonight at Rick's Cafe in Chagrin Falls. I have never seen them perform without bringing in a huge crowd. It usually starts to take off around 10 p.m. after people have finished having dinner. Then late night The Greenville is always happening. And don't forget the Wine Bar and Gamekeepers (patio is open).

Downsized {again] from their Corporate jobs
Some of them are on their 3rd or 4th downsizing {Thanx Bitpipe} in the past 10 or so years.
When I speak in front of groups, I always ask this question:
" If you are on your 3rd or 4th downsizing, and you are 49 years old, what is your expectation of how the next scenario will play out if you decide on pursuing a corporate job again?"
Another words, what is going to change? Are you prepared to have the dejavu experience of the emotions that you may be feeling now?
My favorite saying is, "Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes."
If you would like to have some measure of control back in your professional and personal life, I am suggesting that you start looking at purchasing a franchise as a way to change your life.
Franchising is definitely not for everyone, but for some it does have life-changing potential.
